Kohima, India Aug 30, 2026 ALN: DIMAPUR, AUG 29: The U16 ASMITA Football League for Women 2026–27 was organized by the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) at the Turf Ground, Jalukie on Saturday. This event was held under the directive of the Football Association (NFA) in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Khelo India. The ASMITA initiative represents a significant step towards empowering young women in sports, particularly in football, which has traditionally been male-dominated in many regions of India.

The league aims to foster a culture of sports among young girls, encouraging participation in football and providing them with a platform to showcase their talent.
