Miao Substation Energized, Enhancing Power Supply in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, India Aug 27, 2026 ALN: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein announced on Wednesday that the successful charging of the 132/33 kV Miao substation represents a pivotal step in enhancing the state's power infrastructure and improving electricity supply in the Changlang district.

Mein, who oversees the power and hydropower portfolios, emphasized that the new substation will bolster grid connectivity and ensure a reliable and quality power supply to Miao, Diyun, Kharsang, and surrounding areas. The introduction of this substation is expected to significantly reduce the frequency of power outages, which have been a persistent issue in the region, especially during peak demand periods.
