flydubai increases winter flights from Dubai to Milan-Bergamo and Naples, offering more daily services and seamless connections across Italy.

Dubai: Travellers flying between Dubai and Italy will have more options this winter after flydubai increased flights to Naples and announced additional services to Milan-Bergamo in response to growing demand. This expansion reflects the airline's commitment to enhancing its connectivity and service offerings in one of Europe’s most popular travel destinations.

The Dubai-based airline has increased its Dubai-Naples service to daily flights from July 27. This move is significant as it marks a shift in travel patterns, with more passengers seeking direct flights to Italy from the UAE, particularly during the winter months when travel typically sees a surge. Additionally, flydubai will increase its Milan-Bergamo route to two flights a day from July 31, expanding connectivity between the UAE and Italy.

However, passengers travelling to Naples in November should note a temporary airport change. From November 1 to 30, flydubai will operate its daily service to Salerno Costa d'Amalfi and Cilento Airport (QSR) instead of Naples International Airport (NAP) while maintenance is carried out at Naples International Airport. This is a crucial detail for travellers, as it may affect their travel plans and require adjustments in transportation arrangements upon arrival.

Passengers already booked to Naples during that period will be automatically rebooked onto flights to Salerno, the airline said, allowing journeys to continue without disruption. Flights to Naples International Airport will resume from December 1, ensuring that the service returns to normal as the busy holiday season approaches. This proactive approach by flydubai aims to minimize inconvenience for passengers and maintain a high level of service quality.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, expressed enthusiasm regarding the expansion, stating that Naples and Milan have become important destinations in the airline's Italian network. He emphasized the airline's focus on strengthening connectivity between the UAE and Italy as travel demand increases during the winter season. This is particularly relevant as Italy continues to be a favored destination for both leisure and business travellers from the Middle East.

With the latest changes, flydubai will serve Italy with:

  • Twice-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo

  • Daily flights to Naples

  • Three weekly flights to Catania

  • Seasonal twice-weekly flights to Olbia until the end of August

These services not only cater to the increasing demand but also provide a variety of options for passengers looking to explore different regions of Italy. Milan, known for its fashion and business hubs, and Naples, famed for its rich history and culinary delights, are key attractions that draw tourists from across the globe. The expansion of services to these cities aligns with the broader trend of increased travel between the Middle East and Europe, particularly as international travel restrictions have eased in recent years.

Italy has long been a favored destination for tourists from the UAE, with its rich cultural heritage, world-renowned cuisine, and vibrant cities. The ability to travel directly to major Italian cities like Milan and Naples enhances the travel experience for UAE residents and visitors alike. Milan, as a global capital of fashion and design, attracts many business travellers and fashion enthusiasts, while Naples, with its stunning coastal views and historic sites, appeals to those seeking leisure and cultural experiences.

Meanwhile, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, reiterated the importance of the Italian market, stating that the additional flights reflect the airline's commitment to strengthening its direct services to Naples and Milan-Bergamo. This strategic expansion is likely to benefit not only the airline but also bolster tourism and economic ties between the UAE and Italy. The increased connectivity is expected to facilitate greater business interactions and cultural exchanges, further solidifying the relationship between the two regions.

Furthermore, through the combined flydubai and Emirates network, passengers travelling from Italy can also connect to destinations including Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Zanzibar via Dubai. This extensive connectivity enhances the travel experience for passengers, offering them more choices and convenience when planning their journeys. The partnership between flydubai and Emirates allows for seamless travel experiences, providing passengers with the ability to book multi-leg journeys on a single ticket, which is particularly advantageous for those looking to explore multiple destinations.

The Naples and Milan-Bergamo routes are operated under the flydubai-Emirates codeshare, which allows for seamless travel experiences with single-ticket bookings, through-checked baggage, and streamlined connections. This partnership is particularly beneficial for international travellers, as it simplifies the process of transferring between flights and reduces the hassle often associated with layovers. Such arrangements are increasingly important in today's travel landscape, where convenience and efficiency are key considerations for passengers.

As part of its wider network expansion, flydubai has recently launched services to Aleppo, Bangkok and Benghazi, with flights to Pokhara, Nepal, scheduled to begin on September 23. This expansion into diverse markets reflects the airline's strategic approach to growth and its commitment to providing passengers with a variety of travel options. The addition of these routes not only enhances flydubai’s operational footprint but also positions the airline as a competitive player in the regional and international aviation market. The airline's growth strategy appears to be focused on tapping into emerging markets while also catering to established travel routes, ensuring a balanced portfolio of destinations.

In conclusion, the expansion of flydubai’s winter flights to Italy is a significant development for both the airline and its passengers. With increased frequency to key destinations, passengers can expect greater flexibility and options when travelling between the UAE and Italy. As travel demand continues to rise, particularly in the winter season, flydubai's proactive measures to enhance its services may well position it favorably in the competitive airline industry, while simultaneously fostering stronger ties between the UAE and Italy. This development not only benefits travellers but also contributes to the economic growth of both regions, as increased air traffic can lead to heightened tourism and business opportunities. The strategic focus on Italy as a key market underscores the importance of international connectivity in today's globalized world.
