The Embassy of India in Kuwait will restart consular services at three Indian Consular Application Centres from July 23, 2026, providing essential services to applicants.

The Embassy of India in Kuwait has made a significant announcement regarding the resumption of essential services for Indian nationals residing in Kuwait. Starting Thursday, July 23, 2026, Indian consular, passport, visa, and attestation services will be available once again through three dedicated Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs). This move is anticipated with much relief by the Indian community, which forms one of the largest expatriate groups in Kuwait, numbering around 800,000 individuals.

The resumption of these services is particularly crucial for Indian citizens who rely on the consulate for various official documents and assistance. The ICACs, managed by DU Digital Global, will ensure that the application process for passports, visas, and other consular services is streamlined and accessible to applicants throughout Kuwait. This is especially important given the growing demand for such services, as many expatriates require timely documentation for employment, travel, and other personal matters.

The three ICAC locations, strategically situated across Kuwait, are designed to cater to the needs of Indian nationals in different regions. The centres will operate daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., providing flexibility for applicants to visit at their convenience. The specific locations are as follows:

Kuwait City ICAC
Al Jawhara Tower, 1st Floor, Qibla, Block 11, Plot 11, Salem Al Mubarak Street, Kuwait City.

Fahaheel ICAC
Sama Mall, 3rd Floor, Unit 55, Plot No. 21, Fahaheel.

Dajeej ICAC
Waha Mall, Ground Floor, Units 37 & 38, Al Dajeej.

To facilitate the application process, the Embassy has implemented a dual approach for accessing services. Applicants can either walk in to the centres or book appointments online. This online appointment system is particularly beneficial as it helps to manage the flow of applicants and reduce wait times at the centres. However, the Embassy has advised that applicants carefully select the required service category when submitting their requests online to ensure a smooth application process.

In addition to the standard consular, passport, and visa fees that are set by the Government of India, DU Digital Global will implement a service fee of KD 6 per application or service. This service fee is aimed at covering additional facilities provided at the centres, which include assistance with completing application forms, professional photography services, document typing, domestic courier services, as well as printing and photocopying. By offering these additional services, the ICACs aim to enhance the overall experience for applicants, making it as efficient and convenient as possible.

The Embassy has also made available a detailed schedule of government fees and service charges for applicants’ reference. This transparency in pricing is crucial for the Indian community, as it allows them to prepare adequately for the costs associated with obtaining necessary documents. Understanding these fees is essential, especially for expatriates who may be budgeting for multiple applications or services.

The reopening of the ICACs is part of a broader effort to restore normalcy in consular operations that may have been disrupted due to various factors, including the global pandemic and its aftermath. As countries around the world continue to navigate the challenges posed by COVID-19, many governments have been re-evaluating their consular services to better serve their citizens abroad. For the Indian community in Kuwait, this resumption signifies not only the availability of essential services but also the continued commitment of the Indian government to support its citizens in foreign lands.

Historically, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait has played a vital role in addressing the needs of its expatriate population, providing a range of services from emergency assistance to community engagement initiatives. The Indian government has recognized the importance of maintaining strong ties with its diaspora, particularly in regions where they form a significant part of the workforce. In Kuwait, Indian nationals are employed across various sectors, including healthcare, construction, and hospitality, making the availability of consular services even more critical.

The Indian community in Kuwait has faced numerous challenges over the years, including navigating the complexities of visa regulations, labor laws, and cultural integration. The role of the Indian consulate extends beyond mere administrative functions; it is a lifeline for many expatriates who may find themselves in distressing situations. The ability to access consular services can significantly impact their quality of life, providing them with essential support during emergencies, such as medical crises or legal issues.

As the Indian community in Kuwait prepares for the reopening of these services, it is essential for individuals to remain informed about the requirements and processes involved in obtaining consular services. This includes understanding the necessary documentation, fees, and appointment procedures. The Embassy's proactive measures to communicate these details reflect its dedication to ensuring that Indian nationals can access the support they need efficiently.

Moreover, the Indian government has been keenly aware of the importance of digital transformation in enhancing service delivery. The introduction of online appointment systems and digital payment options is a testament to this commitment. These advancements not only streamline the application process but also align with global trends towards digitization in public services, making it easier for citizens to engage with their government from abroad.

In conclusion, the reopening of the Indian Consular Application Centres in Kuwait represents a significant step forward for the Indian community in the region. With a focus on providing essential services in a user-friendly manner, the ICACs aim to meet the demands of Indian nationals while fostering a sense of support and connection to their home country. As the situation continues to evolve, it will be important for the Embassy to adapt its services to meet the changing needs of its citizens abroad, ensuring that they remain informed, supported, and connected. The resumption of these services not only addresses immediate needs but also strengthens the bond between the Indian diaspora and their homeland, reinforcing the notion that the Indian government is committed to its citizens, regardless of where they reside.
