County Sheriff’s Department, including another dog named Buck, were also stationed nearby, working alongside their handlers to provide an additional layer of security. Private security teams were strategically positioned around the stadium perimeter, with dogs sniffing at vehicles and ensuring that anyone entering the venue passed close by a public safety dog.

“That’s the point. Everybody attending is likely to realize they’re being assessed by the nose of a security dog, something which provides a key deterrent to a terrorist or any other person planning something dangerous,” Kucera explained. He emphasized that a significant portion of their work—approximately ninety-five percent—is focused on visual deterrence, which can be crucial in preventing potential threats before they materialize.

However, not all security risks stem from terrorism.
